Thoracoesophageal Fellowship
A one-year advanced training opportunity in partnership with the Digestive Disease Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
Program Overview
The Digestive Disease Institute, in partnership with the Ryan Hill Research Foundation and the Sections of General Thoracic Surgery and Gastroenterology at Virginia Mason Medical Center, offers a one-year advanced thoracoesophageal fellowship.
Fellows gain extensive experience in clinical and endoscopic research focused on upper gastrointestinal disease, with active engagement in both clinical and laboratory-based digestive disease research.
Fellowship Highlights

- Active engagement in digestive disease research, both clinically and in the laboratory
- Funding to present findings at national medical meetings
- Direct participation in patient care during procedures and outpatient follow-up

Eligibility
- Physicians who have completed a formal surgical residency in the United States (ACGME approved)
- International applications eligible, dependent on training level and visa eligibility
